I wonder how different this world would be if everyone lived out this dictionary definition of respect within the family, among friends, when associating with colleagues and strangers. Respect is an important part of love, treating others with high regard, honor and esteem. But unfortunately, too often the real world is the opposite: hostile, cold and uncaring. Dad, humans have an unfortunate way of treating with respect those who are weak or unlike themselves. Think about this. adults do this to children, children to adults.
Dad, respect implies consideration for the right of another to be unique and free to make age appropriate decisions. it is a truism that you will find in every person what you seek. if you see people as sinful, you will find sin. but if you see them as God's creation, you will find their potential for good. Dad, please respect your children as members of God's creation. Each has individual needs, different abilities and a growing capacity to reason and accept consequences. Please treat your sons, me especially with the dignity we deserve. please be courteous and kind as well as firm and consistent. Please look for the good in me rather than dwelling on the bad. Respect my feelings and you will find me more willing to cooperate.
Dad, treat me with respect and you will have a better chance of getting the same in return
